"You're Full of Shit!": The Link Between Bathroom Habits and Deception

Updated: May 4, 2023

The world is full of strange and wonderful things. And there was nothing that Dr. Henry J. Grimsby liked more than to find one of those strange and wonderful things, and then poke and prod at it until it gave up its secrets.

Dr. Grimsby was a curious man, a man with a deep interest in the workings of the human mind. And so it was that he found himself one day, sitting in his office, staring at a chart on the wall.

The chart was a simple one, with two lines that crossed each other. One line was labeled "truth," and the other "lie." Dr. Grimsby had spent years collecting data, trying to find a pattern, a correlation, something that would help him understand why people lied.

And then, one day, it hit him. It was as if a light bulb had gone off in his head. He realized that there was a connection between people's bathroom habits and their propensity to lie.

You see, Dr. Grimsby had discovered that people were more likely to lie when they hadn't gone to the bathroom in a while. When they were "full of shit," so to speak.

And so it was that Dr. Grimsby began to test his theory. He would bring in patients, sit them down, and ask them a series of questions. And he found that, sure enough, when people hadn't gone to the bathroom in a while, they were more likely to lie.

It was as if they were trying to hold on to something, trying to keep it inside. But the truth has a funny way of getting out, and Dr. Grimsby was there to catch it.

And so, the old idiom proved true once again. People really are "full of shit," in more ways than one. But for Dr. Grimsby, it was just another strange and wonderful thing to add to his ever-growing collection.
